THCV, THC, and THCA

If you’re looking to find out more about cannabis, there are more and more cannabinoids that have been found than ever before. Cannabinoids are definitely different for each type of product, and here, we’ll go over what each one means, and the wonders behind each.

THCV

This is something that’s similar to THC, but they are a bit different. THCV takes a much higher temperature to activate, and it can cause some psychoactive elements that are there, but it’s basically a rarer type of THC. This is found mostly in sativa types of strains, but some have also mentioned it makes them more active and focused than beforehand. This is one that’s good for daytime usage since it does help you feel more active, and there aren't too many sedative effects that come with this.

It is considered an antagonist to the CB1 receptors when you take a small dosage of this. THCV is an agonist at much higher dosages, so if you’ve ever had CBD gummies, you’ve had a lot of this. A lot of people like THCV in their cannabis because it offers a chance to stimulate the appetite, or suppress it, so you’re not getting the munchies all the time.  It’s also a natural antioxidant too. It’s found in very low levels, so if you want a larger type of amount, you’ll want to get an extract of this.

THCA

This is basically the raw type of THC that’s out there. It’s not bioavailable for the body, so the body won’t be able to really use it. It does boil at around 310 degrees, and it takes about 7 minutes for the THC to be extracted from this. That's all when it becomes psychoactive too.  You should always be mindful of tinctures and the like, and don’t leave them in the car or other places, since that can cause it to react almost immediately.

But THCA is actually really good for a few reasons. One of the biggest one, is cancer. It actually stops the growth of these cells, and also works as a natural antiemetic, which is great for those who have chemotherapy, as it can help with the vomiting that one experiences as a result of getting treatment for that.

It’s also actually a great neuroprotective, so it’ll help with Alzheimer’s.  You can take this in the form of a tincture, and you can get it to work within 45 or so minutes. They also come in transdermal patches, and little tablets that take a bit longer, but it does naturally get absorbed by the body.

THC

Compared to the other two on the list, this is the one that's the most psychoactive. It also helps with lifting the body, and relieving stress, so you’re not going to get high and only high. It’s been used for thousands of years, and there are a ton of great usages for this, especially helping with the side effects of medications, and also helping with treating other conditions.

It’s a great neuroprotectant, as it can help with the breakdown of these neurons, and also keeping them nice and strong. It’s also great for anxiety, and PTSD too, as it can help with reducing stress, and the feeling of being powerless that happens when you have PTSD.

That portion of the brain that’s responsible for different memories and the control of fear gets naturally stimulated by this, so it can help with the treatment and also help with overcoming trauma, something a lot of people deal with, especially if they’ve been through a lot, and struggle to handle the effects.
